The territory of Monferrato, a historical region of Piedmont, was recognized a few years ago as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; due to the universal value for the deep-rooted culture of wine, both red and white, and the extraordinary and sinuous landscape shaped by man, with the aim of cultivating it entirely with vines.
The farm of Alessandro Motta and his family is located in the town of Castel Rocchero, in the province of Asti and takes its first steps in the 90s. The municipality is part of the territory of the Asti Monferrato characterized by hills covered entirely by vineyards. A territory represented by the deep-rooted culture of wine and, thanks to the characteristics of its newly formed land, the vine is cultivated well, giving life to full-bodied wines with nuances of unique tastes that are maintained over time.
Currently the production is about 9000 bottles, divided equally between the three Piedmontese wines par excellence produced by his family: the mainly cultivated varieties are Barbera d’Asti, Brachetto d’Aqui and Moscato d’Asti. Expanding with the use of the new online platform, the company is modernizing and expanding the distribution and sale of wines of Monferrato, reaching consumers throughout Italy. Barbera del Monferrato is described as Piedmontese red wine with an alcohol content of 14.5%, fruity, soft, elegant and with balanced acidity; it is recommended with meat and cheese dishes. Addressing more towards a pastry wine or as an aperitif, Brachetto has an alcohol content of 5.5% and an exuberant perfume.
The attention to the consumer is visible in sales actions such as “welcome tasting”, which allows the purchase of a composition of their three discounted Piedmontese wines.
